Editing and Proofreading

I know words, and for the most part, I know which wurds aren’t words. Wurds are pesky and irritating, and I can turn them into words quickly and effectively.

Standard Options

1. Basic. Aside from just reading, this is the fastest (and most inexpensive) option. While proofreading to this standard, I will look for the following:

Spelling and grammar
Punctuation
Formatting

2. Advanced. In addition to all of the criteria of the previous option, I will also look for the following:

Sentence structure
Logical consistency
Overall structure

3. Thorough. I consider this option the fine-tooth comb. In addition to all of the above, I will chop up sentences and stew them until they are at their most flavourful. When working to this standard, I will use a great deal of personal discretion and the work I return will likely be drastically different than the original. As always, though, I will do my best to retain the author’s voice in the writing. This option is not-surprisingly more time-consuming than the others.
